The first timers Retreat

I can't believe I am writing a blog, because number 1: I can't spell to save my life, so now this secret is out for the world to see and number 2: I am not a huge fan of reading, so why would anyone want to read this.

Anyway, this past weekend Liquid Student Ministries (where I am the youth pastor) hosted it's first ever spring retreat.

WOW, WHAT A WEEKEND!

I don't think I have ever been as stressed as I was the Thursday night before the retreat, but in the end, God showed up and did His thing!!!

A challenge by my mentor (@jeannemayo ) is what lead to us doing this retreat, but I guess I should say it is what lead us to hosting the most life changing / impacting weekend for Christ our youth ministry has ever had and it is now become a tradition for our group!

So here are my top 10 things from this weekend!

1. Having 1 person accepting Christ into their heart for the first time.

2. Watching 19 other students rededicate their lives to Christ.

3. Having 11 students on the trip that have only been attending our youth group for 12 week or less.

4. Worshiping with our students into the early morning hours.

5. Realizing just how amazing the team of leaders and parents are that I have with me!

6. Walking out to my car late Thursday night thinking someone put trash on my car, only to find a personal journal for me from another local youth pastor in town! (Talk about inspiring each other for the Kingdom!)

7. Losing the keys to the van so I couldn't leave to go and set anything up Friday morning.

8. Seeing Ashton make a crazy basketball shot.

9. Taking a walk with Kayla around the camp grounds just me and her!

10. Going Home!!!

It was an amzing weekend and I realized, WOW we can do this! Like I said God showed up and did His thing. Lives were changed, friendships were made, and we learned a ton!

All I can say is, I can't wait till October 8th - 10th, 2010 for LIQUID'S Fall Retreat.
